My Story

I live life passionately. I enjoy helping people and giving them peace of mind by reducing their financial risk.

I enjoy helping people by showing them how to to protect their assets so that they can provide financial security for themselves and their loved ones.

I come by this passion honestly.

My parents were immigrants who started their own successful dairy business in the California Central Valley, where I grew up, a middle child among ten children.

Since there were so many of us, there was always some event going on, and we always had to coordinate our activities and help out in whatever way we could. We would sew new clothes for the holidays. In spring we would bring the heifers out to pasture, and later bring them back for calving. In the summer we would pick fruit for canning and making pies. Two of my siblings were disabled: one with rheumatoid arthritis at seventeen and another from birth. The challenges they faced I’m sure influenced my future career in health insurance.

School eventually took me away from the Central Valley. After I graduated from Central Catholic High School in Modesto, I got a Bachelors of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of California, Berkeley in 1987. I began my career as a relationship manager with FICO. During my almost 10 years there, I exceeded all expectations by continually breaking records in the sales of the financial products I was responsible for.

Within FICO, there was an insurance division, and I found myself drawn to health and life insurance work. I spent a few intervening years consulting and volunteering, and then eight years ago opened my own office, Boro Insurance.

Outside of the office, I’m still active in volunteer work. I’ve bicycled for many nonprofits, including the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation Cycle for Life through Sonoma and Napa Counties. I’ve also volunteered for many years with the Junior Olympics, the Juvenile Diabetes Foundation, and the American Cancer Society.

I enjoy spending the rest of my time with my spouse and two adult children.
